Doherty and Winehouse help each other

Pete Doherty has claimed that he and Amy Winehouse are in regular contact to discuss their respective drug problems.

The Babyshambles singer made the revelation after visiting court yesterday for a review of his drug order.

He told The Sun: "I speak to Amy almost every day."

Doherty also revealed that Winehouse has managed to stay clean from drugs since her husband Blake Fielder-Civil was arrested earlier this month.

The rocker commented: "She just wants her man back for Christmas. They are desperately in love.

"One good thing is that Blake has got clean since he has been in prison. It’s been quite an awakening.

"Amy stopped doing everything since he went in. She realises how much they have to lose. They are going to lose each other if it carries on. Love, music and melody is the way forward."

Talking about his own drug problems, he said: "Let’s just say we are not dreaming of a white or brown Christmas."
