Actress Julia Roberts has designed a piece of jewellery for fashion label Emporio Armani to mark World AIDS day.

The Ocean's Twelve star helped designer Giorgio Armani create the Emporio Armani Red Bracelet to mark the event on December 1.

Armani said: "Julia has helped create a beautiful accessory for men and women, which will also be a visible reminder of the part that we can play in fighting AIDS in Africa."

The bracelets have been made in brown and red and have an imprint of a tree of life symbol on behalf of the Red global initiative that was set up last year by U2's Bono to help fight AIDS in Africa.

The bracelets will be sold over the fashion house's website for $175 (£87.50) for the women's version and $195 (£97.50) for the men's bracelet.
