The woman claiming to be the biological mother of Angelina Jolie's adopted child has said the youngster should visit her birthplace.
Ethiopian Mentwabe Dawit has recently told how she gave birth to Zahara despite past claims the child's parents were dead. It is unclear whether it was Mentwabe's mother Almaz, adoption officials or others who first said she had died from AIDS.
Mentwabe told the Mail on Sunday she was angry about the situation and accused the man who took Zahara for adoption: "What he has done is tantamount to kidnap. He took my daughter and just disappeared with her saying I was dead."
However, she repeated the sentiment that she was glad the child would have a good life in the USA: "She will have a better life with Angelina. If she had stayed with me she could have died.
"I'm happy to see my daughter in a better life, in a better place. The thing that makes me upset is that Angelina is saying I'm dead – I'm alive and have never had AIDS."
She added she wanted Jolie to bring her daughter to visit her family and birthplace: "She must know her country, she must know her family, that's where her identity is."
