The guitarist was working on Oasis' seventh studio album with his bandmates when he was confronted by a Greek man who claimed Noel had stolen his songs.
The fan argued that the songs Oasis were recording for their new album were written by him, not Noel.
Police were called to the studios, but the man disappeared before they arrived at the site.
An insider told The Sun: "The guy showed up in a proper rage. He meant business and was clearly off his rocker.
"He claimed that he had written all this material that Noel had nicked off him for the new album. The fella was fuming and was threatening to beat Noel up over it all.
"He tried to force his way into the studio but couldn’t get through. He heard the police were coming and turned on his heels."
Following the incident Oasis have reportedly hired extra security at the studios and will have a constant police presence during their recording sessions.
