Barbra Streisand has revealed that she is backing Hillary Clinton in her US presidential campaign.
The singer confirmed her support just one day after chat show host Oprah Winfrey announced that she would be backing Clinton's rival Barak Obama during the campaign next month.
Streisand had donated large amounts of money to all the three Democrat frontrunners Clinton, Obama and John Edwards last month, but she revealed that she would now only be rooting for the former US First Lady.
In a statement Streisand said: "Hillary Clinton has already proven to a generation of women that there are no limits for success.
"Hillary is a powerful voice for change as we find our country at an important crossroads. Under her leadership, our country will regain its respect within the global community."
The music legend, who opposes President George Bush, added: "After eight long years, the public will once again have faith in their government."
