Rapper Birdman arrested over marijuana

Rapper Bryan 'Birdman' Williams has been arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
An RV that was carrying Williams and 15 others was stopped by Police Cpl. Tim Horne when it forced a tractor trailer into an emergency lane. When he opened the vehicle he could smell marijuana.
Horne gained consent to search the vehicle and found around a pound of the drug in a rubbish bin.
Williams, who was travelling from New Orleans to New York for a BET photo shoot at the time, was charged with possession of more than half an ounce of marijuana, as were his brother Ronald Williams, his wife Brittany and 13 others.
All 16 passengers were kept in jail overnight.
An investigation has also been launched after an assault rifle, a handgun and a magazine for a .45-caliber handgun were seized from the RV. No weapons charges have been filed so far.
