Usher celebrates birth of baby boy

Usher has been celebrating after his wife Tameka gave birth to a baby boy on Monday night.

The R'n'B star, who announced that the pair were expecting a son in September, called his first child Usher Raymond V.

Tameka gave birth to their 7lbs 9 oz. son at a hospital in Atlanta.

In a statement the couple, who got married in August, said: "We are so happy and proud of our beautiful son. What a blessing!"

At the time of the announcement, Usher said: "I just want my son to fully be coherent and to be healthy, first and foremost.

"I've found that it is a step-by-step process. You can wish for a million and one things. But I hope that my son has the same energy I had as a child. Hopefully, he won't be as bad as me. I hope he's just a healthy son."
