Akon charged over stage incident

Akon has been charged with second-degree harassment for hitting an audience member with a boy he threw from the stage.

Abby Rosa claims she suffered concussion after a fellow fan landed on her at a show in the Dutchess Stadium, Fishkill in June.

The rapper is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment.

He is due to appear in court next week. Akon's lawyers have claimed there are no grounds for the charges.

Audience members at the concert say that Akon asked audience members and security to pull out a boy that threw an object at him during the gig.

Akon then allegedly threw the boy from his shoulders into the crowd and hit Rosa.
