Osbournes make $800k with charity auction
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne have made more than $800,000 (£389,000) for charity with a house clear-out auction.

They cleared out their Beverly Hills mansion in a sale of everything from furniture to ornaments in aid of the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Foundation.

Many of the items had achieved television fame when the home became the backdrop to MTV's The Osbournes.

They included one of Ozzy's coats, at $3,300 (£1,600), a pair of trainers with skull designs for $2,625 (£1,276) and the family custom-made pool table, which went for $11,250 (£5,470).

A beaded model of the Eiffel Tower, which sat in the Osbournes' kitchen, fetched $10,000 (£4,862).

Auction manager Darren Julien said bidding on Saturday was "feverish". Crowds who turned out were "unlike anything we have ever seen by record numbers of bidder registrations", he added.

Julien commented: "The Osbourne factor more than doubled the value of some items."
