High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale has undergone rhinoplasty to treat a deviated nasal septum.
The actress has become the latest celebrity to have the treatment done, after Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston corrected the problem earlier this year.
Tisdale, who is about to film High School Musical 3, told People why she went through with the five-hour procedure on Friday, saying: "I always knew I had a deviated septum on the right side of my nose, which caused trouble breathing.
"The older I got, the worse it got. I went to get it checked out, and the doctor told me the septum was 80% deviated and that I had two small fractures."
But the 22-year-old has insisted that she did not undergo the surgery for vanity reasons and that she feels it's important to be honest about what she has had done.
She added: "I didn't do this because I believe in plastic surgery. I did this to help my health.
"I'm not someone who is going to act like I had nothing done. I just want to be honest because my fans are everything to me."
