Teri Hatcher is to be sued by a cosmetics company after she broke a contract by publicising rival beauty products.

Hydroderm skincare pays the Desperate Housewives actress a $2.4 million (£1.2 million) salary for promoting its beauty products, but the company has claimed that Hatcher has breached the agreement after being linked to other ranges.

The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles, said: "Hatcher's name, image and likeness have been linked to so many competitors' products that it is anyone's guess as to what product keeps her skin and lips youthful."

Hydroderm has asked to be reimbursed for unspecified damages, their legal costs and the sum paid to Hatcher.
