Spears steals lighter from petrol station

Britney Spears has walked out of a petrol station without paying for a 69p disposable lighter.

The singer was confronted about the theft by a photographer, but just laughed off the accusations.

She told the paparazzi: "I stole something. Oh, I'm bad."

The petrol station boss, Jatinder Kaur, believes Spears should come back and pay for the lighter but insists the store will not contact the police about the incident.

Kaur told People magazine: "Yes, Britney stole a lighter. I'm hoping maybe the next time she comes back she will pay for it.

"I know she can afford to pay for it, but I'm not planning to file a police report. It's still not right for her to steal the lighter. I hope she will do the right thing the next time she comes here."
