Madonna photo sparks facelift rumours

Madonna has been snapped leaving a New York medical building with two black eyes, prompting speculation that she has undergone cosmetic surgery.

The singer, 49, had her eyes covered by dark sunglasses, but marks similar to those commonly caused by an operation on the eyes or nose were still visible.

Madonna has always put her youthful appearance down to yoga and a macrobiotic diet, but experts have suggested that she may have been under the knife in the past.

She was photographed with a scar and swelling around her ear in September, leading surgeon Alex Karidis to claim that "she has undergone a form of facelift".
