Charges against Shia LaBeouf dropped

Actor Shia LaBeouf has avoided prosecution after being accused of trespassing in a Chicago drug store.

The Transformers star was charged with misdemeanour criminal trespassing last month after being arrested for allegedly refusing to leave a Walgreens store and appearing drunk.

However, the case was dropped at a Chicago court yesterday after prosecutors told the judge they had received a letter from the retail chain announcing that it did not wish to pursue the charges.

The 21-year-old will star alongside Harrison Ford in upcoming film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
