Hansen gets 3 fan letters per year

Match Of The Day pundit Alan Hansen has admitted that he receives a pitiful amount of fan mail compared to Gary Lineker.

The former Liverpool player confessed that he is lucky to get three letters a year, while the show's host seems to be much more popular with female viewers.

"I've worked with two presenters - Des Lynam and Lineker. With Des, the fan mail must have been 100 to one. With Lineker it's 500 to one. It's unbelievable how many fan letters he receives," Hansen told Maxim magazine. "I only get about three a year!"
