Hugh Grant's woman was ex-porn star

The woman who offended diners at a London restaurant by openly snogging Hugh Grant has been named as ex-porn star Shu Qi.

The actor, who was reportedly drunk, kissed 31-year-old Qi while his friend John Duigan, 58, stroked her thigh.

He apparently spent 20 minutes playing with the Hong Kong-born actress, kissing and allowing her to suck his fingers in front of shocked customers.

Qi, 31, starred in a number of porn films and stripped off for adult magazines before landing roles in mainstream movies. In 1999, director Ang Lee offered her the lead role in Oscar-winning film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but she opted to star in a Coca-cola advert instead.

Duigan, who directed Grant in 1994's Sirens, dismissed the speculation surrounding the incident, telling the Mirror: "This whole thing has been beefed up. It was just people having fun in a bar."

Qi is believed to have been staying with the filmmaker for several weeks while he considers her for his upcoming projects.
