Kidman surprises ill kids with screening

Nicole Kidman surprised a group of sick children in Australia by treating them to a screening of her new movie The Golden Compass.

The actress turned up to the Sydney Children's Hospital, where she is an ambassador, and hosted the event for the children who have to spend Christmas in the ward.

Speaking to the patients and families, Kidman said: "This is a small gesture and I would just like to say I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year."

But she warned: "I play a villain in this film, so to all the little kids - don't stay."

Kidman is hoping to hold another screening at the hospital next year with the movie she is filming at the moment, Australia.
