Burton surprises Bonham Carter with boots

Tim Burton has surprised Helena Bonham Carter with four pairs of boots to mark the birth of their baby daughter.

The director celebrated the new arrival on Saturday with a shopping spree at exclusive Hampstead store Cop Copine, where he reportedly bought every pair of boots in his girlfriend's size.

A source told the Daily Express: "Helena's not your typical diamonds girl so Tim thought she would appreciate a bit more thought. He knows how much she loves these black boots so he decided to buy her four pairs."

The actress, who was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for Burton's Sweeney Todd, already has a four-year-old son, Billy, with the filmmaker.

She recently revealed that he planned to give their home an unusual Christmas makeover, saying: "He decorates it with dead babies and slime balls and things. It looks lovely and glittery from afar, and then as you get closer, you realise it's rather gory."
