Cher is reportedly growing increasingly concerned after her daughter's weight ballooned to more than 23st.

According to US magazine Enquirer, 38-year-old Chastity now weighs "the same as the average female grizzly bear".

Chastity, the only daughter of Cher and ex-husband Sonny Bono, has battled weight problems and drug addiction throughout her life.

A source said: "Cher loves Chas and wants to save her from digging her own grave with a knife and fork."

She took part in the American version of Celebrity Fit Club earlier this year, but appears to have regained the 23lbs she lost.

Chastity is currently a writer and gay activist after coming out about her sexuality in 1995.
