Beckham questioned over car theft

David Beckham was mistaken for a car thief when police officers pulled him over on Wednesday.

The footballer was driving his Range Rover through Epping, Essex when he was flagged down by police after a number of 4x4 vehicles were stolen in the area.

But they received a shock when Beckham wound down his window to be questioned.

A witness told : "Becks pulled into a hotel. The window came down and in 15 seconds he was gone."

Essex police confirmed that they had checked the ownership of Beckham's car.
