Holmes spends £50,000 on presents

Katie Holmes splashed out £50,000 on Christmas presents last week, according to US reports.

The actress treated friends to a £150 lunch at the Neiman Marcus department store in Beverly Hills before shopping for gifts for husband Tom Cruise and 19-month-old daughter Suri.

An insider said: "She bought a $30,000 (£15,000) rose-gold Cartier wristwatch, a Prada ski coat for $1,395 (£700), four pairs of Barker Black handmade English shoes at $825 (£410) each, and $5,000 (£2,500) on dresses and other clothes for Suri."

The 29-year-old recently had a mould of the toddler's foot taken by designer Christian Louboutin, who will create a special pair of shoes worth £1,250 for her.

A source at Louboutin's firm told In Touch magazine: "She is our youngest client ever!"

Holmes' publicist confirmed that the actress had visited Neiman Marcus, but denied she spent £50,000.
