Sean Connery has vowed to never come out of retirement to return to acting.
The former Bond star has given up films to enjoy a quiet life with his wife Micheline in their apartment in New York.
He has even turned down the previous five £20 million projects that were offered to him, including a chance to appear in the forthcoming Indiana Jones instalment.
Connery insisted: "There is nothing that will persuade me to get back into acting. It's over - I will never, ever do another film."
But Micheline, who has been married to the actor for 22 years, is not convinced that he will stick to his vow because he has gone against his word in the past.
She said: "He has said that twice before and then ended up doing another one!"
The 007 star recently tried to write his autobiography to set the record straight after previous "lies" were published about him, but he gave up because he found writing it too stressful.
Connery said: "It was giving me really bad nightmares and I wasn't sleeping. I don't think I am cut out for introspection!"
