Brandy to be cleared over death crash?

Published Friday, Dec 28 2007, 14:53 GMT | By Kimberley Dadds
Brandy Norwood could be cleared of causing a fatal car crash last year because police reports suggest that a woman who died during the incident may have been the one at fault, it has emerged.

The singer faced being sued for $50 million (£25 million) after she was involved in a four-car crash last December which left 38-year-old Awatef Aboudihai dead.

However, no charges have yet been brought against Brandy because the evidence shows that she may have been the victim of Aboudihai's poor driving, according to TMZ.

Aboudihai reportedly drove her car in front of Brandy and she had been driving too close to the car in front of her when she slammed on the brakes.

Los Angeles County Coroner spokesperson Capt. Ed Winter also revealed that Aboudihai had "slight traces" of marijuana in her system at the time of the incident.

The LA Attorney has until the end of today to decide whether criminal charges should be filed against Brandy, but reports suggest the City Attorney's Office is divided over the decision.
