Lee Ryan arrested for assault

Lee Ryan has been arrested for an alleged assault on a taxi driver in Oxted on New Year's Eve.

Police confirmed that a 24-year-old male was held on suspicion of assault and has been released on bail until February.

He was travelling to a party in the Surrey town when he was involved in a minor traffic accident, according to The Sun.

The former Blue singer then allegedly lost his temper and the taxi driver called his operator, who contacted the police.

A spokesperson for Surrey police commented: "A 24-year-old man was arrested and taken to Reigate police station on December 31 following an incident in Westerham Road, Oxted.

"He has been released on police bail pending further inquiries."
