Delta Goodrem denies wedding 'ban'

Delta Goodrem has denied claims that she has been banned from marrying Brian McFadden.

In a recent magazine interview, McFadden revealed that Delta's father had instructed him to quit smoking before taking the Australian singer down the aisle.

However, a representative for Goodrem has insisted that the couple's wedding has been delayed because of their busy schedules.

"Yes Brian and Delta's father Dennis did discuss the need for him to cut down on his smoking," the spokeswoman told Sydney Confidential. "But that's not the reason they haven't set a date for the wedding yet and it's looking more likely to be next year. It's due to the fact their careers are occupying most of their time in 2008."

Goodrem will release her third album Delta internationally this year before returning to her home country to launch a new tour. McFadden is also expected to re-launch his singing career in 2008.
