Mel C, Geri discuss eating disorders

Mel C and Geri Halliwell have spoken out about the eating disorders they suffered during the Spice Girls' rise to fame.

Speaking on US TV, Mel C revealed that the pressures of the media led to her "overexercising", while Halliwell claimed she was upset at being called "Podge Spice".

Mel C said: "My biggest, biggest fear...was that the papers were going to say I'd put on weight. I wasn't eating properly and I was overexercising. I was very skinny."

Halliwell commented: "I was called Podge Spice. I was the fat, dumpy one."
