Murphy and Edmonds to marry in US

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds are to marry in the US after it was claimed that their wedding in French Polynesia was invalid.

The couple tied the knot on a private island off Bora Bora on New Year's Day, but it was later reported that the ceremony was illegal because they had not lived near the location for at least 30 days.

However, Edmonds’ representative told People that a second wedding would take place, saying: “As is typical when couples get married in foreign countries, a legal ceremony will take place when they return to the US.

“The wedding that took place in Bora Bora was a ceremony to bind Eddie and Tracey spiritually in the presence of family and friends. The couple plan a legal ceremony as soon as they return to the States.”

Murphy has been dating Edmonds, a film producer, since early 2007. She has two children from her marriage to singer Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds, while Murphy has five children with ex-wife Nicole Mitchell and one daughter with Spice Girl Melanie Brown.
