Report: 'Spears is danger to herself'

Britney Spears has been held in hospital by the LA Police because of her mental state, say reports.

According to TMZ, the popstar is on a '5150' hold, which means she is considered a danger to herself and her children.

Spears was taken to the Cedars Hospital this morning following a dispute at her home over the custody of her children.

It was reported this morning that Spears may have been under the influence of drugs or drink, but US reports now claim she may be mentally unstable.

The popstar's ex-husband Kevin Federline is expected to receive full custody of the couple's two children following today's incident.
