James Blunt keeps his feet on the ground

James Blunt has insisted that he has not let fame go to his head.

The singer became a household name following the huge success of his 2004 album Back to Bedlam, which he followed up with All The Lost Souls last year.

Since rising to prominence, he has been linked to a number of famous women, and recently boasted that he once partied with nine naked ladies in a swimming pool.

However, in an interview with the Daily Record, Blunt joked: "I've had my feet on the ground because my friends and family have been abusive to me since this happened.

"But life is for living. In order to write songs I need to live life too. If I just sat in a hotel room I wouldn't have anything to write about.

"The trappings of being in this business are that you get to go on tour with your band and go onstage every night and laugh onstage with each other with music as our medium of conversation and have an audience who may have had these songs as a soundtrack to their lives. Music is a great art. It's a form of communication that transcends language."
