Winehouse dyes hair platinum blonde

Amy Winehouse has shocked fans by dying her hair platinum blonde.

The singer revealed her new look after staying at home for three days following her Christmas break at Bryan Adams' villa on the Caribbean island of Mustique.

She is believed to have paid a visit to hairdresser Alex Foden, who lives in her East London apartment block.

The Mirror quotes a friend as saying: "Amy decided she wanted to bleach her hair at the beginning of the week. She sees it as a new year and a new start. A change of image seemed a good way to mark it."

Winehouse's spokesperson added: "She wanted a new look for the New Year."

It was recently claimed that the 24-year-old was violently sick at Gatwick Airport after downing large quantities of champagne.
