Doctor recommends AA meeting to Moyles

A doctor has claimed that Chris Moyles' liver will turn "into a gherkin" if he keeps drinking so heavily.

The DJ admitted on air that he tends to drink around five pints of beer a day, which Dr Robert Lefever has said is over the "sensible limit".

Lefever told the Daily Star: "At that level of drinking he will be turning his liver into a gherkin.

"I’m not saying he is an alcoholic - a man of 33 could be an idiot without being an alcoholic.

"The idiots are usually the lads who think they are being clever but can really be hurting their families or colleagues with their behaviour.

"Five pints a day is definitely over the sensible limit. He needs to talk to his boss and look at his behaviour."

He also recommended that the Radio 1 breakfast show host attend an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting to assess whether he has a problem.

A Radio 1 spokesperson commented: "Chris Moyles doesn’t drink five pints a day. This was part of show banter."
