Nicole Richie gives birth to baby girl

Nicole Richie has given birth to her first child with Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden.

The couple welcomed the arrival of their baby daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles yesterday. The child weighed in at 6 pounds, 7 ounces.

A representative for Nicole and Joel told People magazine: "The beautiful healthy baby girl left the hospital with her ecstatic parents."

Richie and Madden have been dating for over a year. They are expected to tie the knot before 2008 is over.
