Spears misses latest court hearing

Britney Spears has failed to attend the latest court hearing over the custody of her two children.

The singer arrived at Los Angeles Superior Court over four hours late, wearing a white mini-dress.

According to The Sun, Spears was swamped by photographers, prompting the popstar to return to her 4x4.

A source commented: "Britney couldn’t handle the mob scene. She looked terrified."

Spears ignored her lawyers' advice that she should enter the court and drove off to church with her new love Adnan Ghalib.

"She was 'strongly advised' to attend. She was told this hearing could be her only hope of getting visitation rights to her children back before their full custody trial in April," said a legal insider.

Her lawyers are rumoured to believe that the singer has no chance of regaining custody if she fails to explain her no-show to Commissioner Scott Gordon.

Gordon has maintained the ruling barring Spears from visiting her children until the next hearing on February 19.

Kevin Federline's lawyer Mark Kaplan had described the meeting as "the most significant hearing in the case."
