Ex-'Emmerdale' star cleared of GBH
Ex-Emmerdale actor Cleveland Campbell has been cleared of assaulting a man at a party in 2005.

The 30-year-old - who played Danny Daggert in the ITV1 soap - was accused of breaking a guest's jaw at then-girlfriend Gemma Atkinson's 21st birthday bash.

He has always denied attacking electrician Daniel Stables, 21, outside a hotel in Bury, Great Manchester.

The GBH charges were dropped ahead of a retrial at Bolton Crown Court. The original trial was aborted last October on the fourth day.

The jury had heard that CCTV footage showed that one of the main witnesses could not have seen the alleged attack.

Campbell, of Rochdale, left Emmerdale in August 2006.

His friend said of the news: “He’s just relieved it’s all over.”
