Johansson to announce engagement?

Scarlett Johansson is on the brink of getting engaged to Canadian boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, reports claim.

According to the New York Daily News, the actress will make an announcement in the near future.

She has been dating the Van Wilder star since last April, following her split with Josh Hartnett.

Reynolds, 31, was previously engaged to singer Alanis Morissette.

A spokesperson for Johansson denied claims that the couple plan to tie the knot.

The 23-year-old, who recorded her debut album last summer, has reportedly been asked to perform at the Brit Awards on February 20.
