The rapper - real name Sean Combs - changed his stage name from Puff Daddy to P Diddy in August 2005.
He later dropped the P and became Diddy, but is still widely referred to as P Diddy in the UK and New Zealand.
He is quoted in the Daily Star as saying that he now prefers to be called Sean John, the name of his clothing line.
He said: “I have always evolved and taken a different name each time. Right now I want to be Sean John because that’s where I am right now.”
