Bono compares Al Gore to a priest
Bono has compared environmental activist Al Gore to an Irish priest.

The U2 frontman attended the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Switzerland with Gore earlier this week.

While Bono was there to promote his campaign against poverty in the Third World, Gore spoke about the need to reduce global carbon emissions.

Bono has revealed that he feels guilty about his extravagant lifestyle when he meets the former US vice-president, and takes the opportunity to confess his "sins" against the environment.

"It's like being with an Irish priest. You start to confess your sins," he explained. "Father Al, I am not just a noise polluter, I am a noise-polluting, diesel-soaking, gulfstream-flying rock star.

"I'm going to kick the habit. I'm trying father Al, but oil has been very good for me - those convoys of articulated lorries, petrochemical products, hair gel."
