Sean Bean has revealed that he got together with his fiancée after accidentally sending her a text message.

The actor mistakenly selected Georgina Sutcliffe's number when he was trying to get in touch with an assistant in 2004.

Bean, 48, had exchanged numbers with the 29-year-old actress after meeting her briefly two years before.

He told the News Of The World: "I'd come back from filming in Toronto and was trying to contact my assistant Chris but sent the message to Georgina instead.

"I got a message back and thought, ‘Why's that bird texting me?' It all took off from there."

Bean, who has been married twice before and has three children, insisted that his new relationship would last, saying: "I feel very secure this time. I'm very happy with Georgina."

The couple had intended to tie the knot earlier this month but were forced to postpone when Sutcliffe's father fell ill.
