Friend denies making money from Spears

Britney Spears' friend Sam Lutfi has hit back at claims that he has attempted to profit from his relationship with her.

Lufti was quizzed by Kevin Federline’s legal team last week during his deposition in the singer's custody battle over her two sons.

According to OK! magazine, lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan asked Lutfi if either he or Spears informed paparazzi of their whereabouts so they could take exclusive photos. He also wanted to know if Lutfi sold any snaps to magazines and US TV shows.

But a source told TMZ that there was no truth in the rumours, saying: "All [Sam] is trying to do is save a life. The only ones making money off of Britney is the media."

The insider added that Lutfi would "never ask the media to print a lie or anything positive about either of them. Just print the truth."

A photographer recently claimed that Spears works with the paparazzi in order to stage the footage that she wants covered.
