Coogan to propose to girlfriend?

Steve Coogan is rumoured to be on the brink of getting engaged to his girlfriend.

The Alan Partridge star reportedly wants to marry actress and restaurateur China Chow, 33.

The couple were introduced by friends last year and "practically live together" at their homes in London and Los Angeles.

They are also thought to have discussed the possibility of starting a family.

A source told the Daily Mail that Chow counselled Coogan over his feud with Courtney Love, who accused him of contributing to Owen Wilson's suicide attempt by encouraging his drug addiction.

The source said: "Steve is ready to settle down. He's absolutely smitten and hasn't even looked twice at another girl in months. Since he met China, he has really tamed his partying and become more focused than ever on being a comedy star in the US.

"She's been a wonderful influence. He's done with the hard living and distractions. He's talked about having children with China and has dropped some heavy hints that he plans to propose very soon."

Chow's parents are the late model and designer Tina Chow and Michael Chow, owner of the Mr Chow restaurant chain.

Coogan divorced wife Caroline Hickman in 2005 and has a nine-year-old daughter from another relationship.
