Manager: 'Britney has mental issues'

Britney Spears's manager has revealed that the singer has "mental issues" but has seen a psychiatrist.

Close friend Sam Lutfi also said she has made up with her mum Lynne after the pair were estranged following a row last summer. Lynne was seen arriving in LA on Sunday, sparking rumours that a reunion may have taken place.

Lufti contacted US TV show The View to report that Spears was suffering from "mental issues which are treatable".

Host Barbara Walters revealed: "He said she has been to a psychiatrist and that she - I assume this - has started some kind of treatment.

"She has been having mood swings. She has been having trouble sleeping. Also, she is in touch with her mother. Her mother has been very supportive of what Britney is going to do."

Lutfi recently hit back at claims that he has attempted to profit from his relationship with Spears.
