Arctic Monkeys bag South Bank Pop Award
Arctic Monkeys have won the Pop Music prize at the South Bank Awards.

The Sheffield band's Favourite Worst Nightmare album earned them the accolade over Radiohead's In Rainbows.

This Is England beat Control, the biopic based on the life of Joy Division's Ian Curtis, to the Best Film accolade, while the BBC series Gavin And Stacey won the best comedy award.

JK Rowling received the Outstanding Achievement title for her Harry Potter novels.

The awards will be broadcast on ITV on February 3.
