Young in rehab after awards outburst

Sean Young has checked into rehab after being thrown out of the Directors Guild Of America Awards following a drunken outburst.

The Blade Runner star was ejected from the Hyatt Regency Hotel in LA on Saturday after heckling director Julian Schnabel as he accepted his gong for The Diving Bell and The Butterfly.

She voluntarily checked into "an undisclosed" facility in California on Monday in an attempt to overcome her long-running addiction to alcohol.

Her spokeswoman said: "It is understood that she has struggled against the disease for many years."

Young was believed to be sitting at Helen Hunt's table by the stage when she called: "Hurry up with the speech."

Schnabel apparently responded: "Have another cocktail, sweetheart, or would you rather finish my speech for me?"
