'Sopranos' star attacks fan at airport

Former Sopranos star James Gandolfini has been caught on camera attacking a fan at New York's JFK airport.

The actor hit out at the man when he stepped too close to Gandolfini's fiancée Deborah Lin while requesting an autograph.

He grabbed the fan's collar and punched him in the face during the spat, which occurred as the couple returned from Sunday's SAG Awards in LA.

However, the New York Daily News said he later apologised, signed an autograph and posed for a snap.

Gandolfini announced his engagement to Lin, a former fashion model, earlier this month. He scooped a Best Actor gong at the SAG awards for his role in The Sopranos.
