Tributes have been pouring in for TV star Jeremy Beadle, who died of pneumonia yesterday.

The 59-year-old passed away with his family at his bedside after being admitted to hospital last week.

Game For A Laugh co-host Henry Kelly said he would miss him "desperately", commenting: “Jeremy and I were firm friends for nearly 30 years. I loved and admired him."

The practical joke show was Beadle's big TV break and ran from 1981 to 1985. He and Kelly presented the series alongside future Stars In Their Eyes host Matthew Kelly and radio presenter Sarah Kennedy.

Kennedy said: “I’m very, very sad for him and his family to know that he’s gone.”

Noel Edmonds also spoke of his sorrow, saying: "I am so shocked at the news. I didn’t realise he was so ill.

"We enjoyed a friendly rivalry over the years when I was doing the Late Late Breakfast Show and he was hosting Game For A Laugh."

Beadle was best known for fronting hit shows Beadle's About and You've Been Framed in the '80s and '90s.
