Spears' friend barred from hospital

Britney Spears' friend and manager Sam Lufti was barred from the waiting room at UCLA Medical Centre after arguing with her mum, reports claim.

Lynne Spears accused him of trying to control her daughter's life after he arranged to have the singer admitted to hospital on the recommendation of her psychiatrist.

Britney was taken to the facility by police and placed on a "mental health evaluation hold" in the early hours of Thursday.

However, TMZ reports that Spears did not resist the move and dismissed her mother's objections, saying: "Shut up... I'll do what I need to do."

She was driven to the medical centre by LAPD officers, with boyfriend Adnan Ghalib and Lynne following behind. Lufti and Spears' cousin Alli Sims also drove to the hospital in separate vehicles, but Lufti was reportedly not allowed to enter the waiting room.

It is rumoured that Spears' legal team has now been told by her immediate family not to talk to him.

Lufti hit back at Lynne in a text message to Access Hollywood, saying: "Her mother is not someone who cares about her daughter, she's only concerned with herself. Sad but true. She was too busy getting a manicure to come over yesterday, despite her daughters [sic] pleas. Sad, very sad."
