Al Pacino has been approached to play British comedian Peter Sellers in a West End play about his last days.
According to writer John Antrobus, the veteran actor is impressed by the script and considering taking on the role at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
Antrobus is quoted as saying: "We have been looking at some top, top names. The play is about Peter's last days. It is difficult to cast. We have been looking at some of the world's greatest actors.
"To play the real Sellers is not easy. [But] Al Pacino loved the script."
Robert Downey Jnr, Robin Williams and Steve Coogan have all previously been linked to the lead role in the play, which is called It's All In The Mind Folks.
Sellers, who starred in films such as The Ladykillers and The Pink Panther, died in 1980 from a heart attack, aged 54.
