Amy Winehouse has temporarily left rehab to meet officials and discuss obtaining a US visa.
The singer, who was joined by her father at the US Embassy in London, is hoping to perform at the Grammy ceremony in LA on Sunday.
Winehouse is nominated for six gongs, including best record, album and song of the year.
A spokesperson for the musician told the BBC: "The appointment at the US Embassy was made some time ago and was part of the process for obtaining a visa.
"Amy was accompanied by a nurse as the appointment was under supervision. She has not left rehab and remains under the care of the clinic."
He added that "no decision" had been made as to whether she would perform at the American awards ceremony.
Winehouse's visa application is complicated by her arrest in Norway last October for possession of cannabis.
