Lynne Spears made the allegations against the singer's friend and manager in a declaration submitted to the court when she requested a restraining order against him last Friday.
The order, which banned him from contacting Spears in any way, was extended in a further hearing yesterday.
The declaration read: "Mr Lutfi drugged Britney. He has cut Britney's home phone line and removed her cell-phone chargers. He yells at her. He claims to control everything - Britney's business manager, her attorneys and security guards at the gate."
Much of the declaration related to the events of January 28, when Spears was hospitalised for the second time amid fears for her mental health.
She claimed that she arrived at her daughter's LA home to find her in a confused state, saying: "Britney... became very agitated and could not stop moving. She cleaned the house. She changed her clothes many times. She also changed her dogs' clothes many times. Britney spoke to me in a tone and with the level of understanding of a very young girl."
She also alleged that Lutfi, 33, told her that he had ground tablets into Spears' meals to "keep her quiet" and had instructed her that she needed to take "10 pills a day" if she wanted to regain visitation rights to her children.
Britney's dad Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallet were given temporary control of the star's affairs until February 14.
