'Skins' actor gets "grief" from viewers

Mike Bailey as Sid

Skins star Mike Bailey has admitted that the show's lead actor Nicholas Hoult often receives hassle during nights out.

Bailey, who plays spineless teen Sid Jenkins, revealed that the cast are forced to step in when Hoult (Tony Stonem) finds himself in trouble while out in Bristol, where the drama is filmed.

Mike told the Daily Record: "I don't get so much trouble but I've been out with Nick when people come up to him and say things that make you think 'Just why would you say that to someone?'

"It's fine when they come up and pay you a compliment about the character you're playing but when they come up and start being difficult that's different.

"We all go out for drinks after work when we're filming. We're good mates, and we all tend to step in when Nick starts getting grief. But we know most of the bouncers in Bristol now, so if we're getting any hassle..."

Skins returns to E4 on Monday at 10pm, and Channel 4 on Thursday at 10.35pm.
